Very few places in Alaska offer guaranteed viewings of native Alaskan wildlife. Kroschel Wildlife Refuge is one of those places. Learn about the important conservation work being performed at the refuge and meet some of the animals living out their natural life under the care of Steve Kroschel, the “Dr. Dolittle of Alaska.” Experience a close encounter of the wild kind on this journey that will bring you up-close to a moose and other native species. Steve Kroschel’s animals have been abandoned or orphaned in the wild. The animals have been placed in Steve’s care by the state of Alaska through a special permitting process. Visit the refuge and support Steve’s important work. Steve is well-known for his film work with animals, including Walt Disney’s Never Cry Wolf.
