Overview
Follow the path of the emerald, from mining to your jewelry box during this unique half-day tour. Depart the pier for a drive through the city with a photo stop at the San Felipe Fortress, the largest Spanish fortress in the New World, built in the 17th century before arriving at the Emerald Museum. Enter into an actual size replica of an emerald mine tunnel for the experience of being inside and seeing the emerald bearing veins. Next, enjoy a short video showing how the emeralds are extracted and delivered to the cutting and polishing centers. Learn the cutting and polishing process step by step and try your hand at this skillful craft. Your next stop is at a jewelry making workshop where you can watch the process of fabricating sterling silver or 18K gold emerald jewelry.
